1. READ, READ, READ
Most vocabulary words are learned from context. The more words you are exposed to; the better vocabulary you will have. While you read, pay close attention to the words you don’t know. Find out the meanings of those words from some dictionary etc. Read and listen to challenging material so that you will be exposed to many new words.
2. IMPROVE YOUR CONTEXT SKILLS
Research shows that the vast majority of words are learned through context. Whenever you search for the meaning of any word on any search engine such as Google it’s then it even shows you how that word should be used in the context. You should pay attention to it too.
3. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
Learning a word won’t help much if you forget it. Researchers show that it takes around 10-20 repetitions to make a word part of your vocabulary. Make a notebook daily write the new word that you read and understand its meaning properly and try to use it in your daily life as well.
4. USE MEMORY TRICKS
For example: consider the word EGREGIOUS (extremely bad), think EGG REACH US…some funny little word pictures will help you remember that words meanings and this will help you make up. Also, find out which learning style suits you.

Playing games on computers that tests your knowledge will help you learn new words and help you know how much progress you are making.
9. INFOGRAPHICS AND ILLUSTRATIONS THAT EXPLORE WORDS:
Some charts and flow charts are even presented in a newspaper that shows new words along with their meanings. Read them daily to improve your vocabulary.
10. LEARNING BY LISTENING
Some people learn by listening rather than reading. In this case, if you learn by listening then you should use that word in your daily life too so that you should become well aware of the word and its meaning too.
11. USING THE WORDS
What so ever new words that you have learned and all, you need to speak to your friend’s n everyone in English…

For me, vocabulary learning has always been a pen and notebook type exercise. Take a pad, draw a vertical line in the middle and write the word in your native language in one side as well as in your target language on the other side. 15. RELATED WORDS
If you just learned the word care, don’t just stop there. Use a dictionary to find out derivatives of that word. You will find words like careful, carefree careless. In this way, along with the word care, you learned 4 more new words and because there meaning is related it is easier to learn n memories meaning of each word.
16. TAKE NOTES
The next way is that always carry a pen and a notebook with you. Whenever you hear any new word note it down in your notebook, and when you reach home, research on it and understand its meaning properly.
17. READ NEWSPAPERS
Make a habit of reading the newspaper every early morning and find new words and research on its meaning.
18. GRAMMAR BOOKS
You can refer to some grammar books and do some exercises or chapters daily so that you can learn easily the proper forms of tenses to be used with different words.

The best way to improve your vocabulary is by speaking the language. There is no substitute for practicing with real people.

Watch television shows like Seinfeld with subtitles to see how their thoughts are expressed effectively in humorless and humorous. Spend time watching anything you enjoy. Observe the body language, emotions, and expressions in connection with speech or dialogues.
