The school as a place of learning holds responsibility towards, students, parents and community at large. The computers also have application in education. Students learn computers as a subject. They are made to work on computers so that they practically know how to operate it. Computers help in running smart classes.

Computers have taken education to another level. Online education is in trend and is popular among students.

This gives rise to a concept called cyberspace. Cyberspace is no longer a virtual reality. It is a perceived reality. It is very much related to schools, homes and has a real impact on psychology, financial status, legal, etc.

Cyberspace has problems too associated with it. When a thing becomes popular people start finding loopholes to take advantage of it.

Why cyber safety is important for children for all age group

1. Obscene content

Parents should take care that the children do not view obscene websites. Moreover, parents should monitor computer and internet usage by children. Even in schools, teachers should take care of these habits and should refrain from students from doing it.

2. Use child lock

Secondly, use child lock programs and systems over your personal computers so that your child does not have access to anything and everything they want.

3. Prevent indulgence in snooping

Take care that students do not indulge in practicing of snooping, eve-teasing, harassing online and take undue advantage of technology and the internet.

4. Hacking

Also, take care that students do not learn hacking from unidentifiable sources and practice it in general.

5. Peer pressure

Students under peer pressure or with the idea of exploration keep viewing websites on the internet and sign up for fraud activities, and activities deemed as disgraceful.

6. Fake accounts

Students also make fake accounts on social media sites and misuse them.

7. Check the credibility of the information

Students make use of online material, websites to get knowledge about different stuff during the growing years that they feel uncomfortable to talk about. Make sure they do not do this as all the information available is not true.

8. Monitor visits to cyber cafes

They regularly visit cyber cafes to do illegal activities.

9. Gambling and cyberbullying

Use the internet for education purposes, for gaining information and knowledge.

Parents and teachers must educate students about cyber safety for children. To educate them about the right and wrong usage of the internet. To give them education regarding cyber crimes and laws.

Conclusively, schools can also organize workshops, seminars or training on cyber safety for children. It should not be seen as an obligation but an option to teach students and empower them with not only the usage of the internet but the correct and legal usage.
